School of Nursing

Nursing services started at ICMH Jalkuri in 1994. From the very beginning, nurses are taking part in different activities. The nurses are giving services at Jalkuri, OPD, day care OT, ORT and health education. ICMH nurses have contributed to research and community related work, like census survey, nutritional status assessment. During the flood of 1988 ICMH opened an emergency diarrhoea treatment centre at Doddrs dormitory, where nurses provided tremendous patient care day and night.

Nurses are working for, their professional development to study BSc nursing, MPH and other long/short courses like midwifery skilled practice, ICU, SBA, BF/Oketani, ECD, Hospital Hygiene & Infection Control, EPI, Baby resusearsitation etc. Moreover ICMH nursing department is playing an important role to give patient care. Lactation Management Centre (LMC), under the guidance of Prof MQ K Talukder, started at JaIkuri on 20th April 1998 by the nurses. It is the first LMC in Bangladesh..
