Clinical programmes:

ORT corner : Children with some dehydration will be treated with ORS on day care basis. The severely dehydrated children will be admitted for intravenous therapy.

EPI corner : Children will be immunised according to the national EPI schedule in this centre.

Day care surgery: An active day care surgery facilities will be provided twice a month at the Paediatric OPD. The unit will be led by a Paediatric surgery consultant. Minor surgical procedures like hernia, hydrocele, drainage of abscess, stitching of cut injury, circumcision etc. will be undertaken.

Paediatric mental health clinic : A monthly mental health clinic will be organised at the OPD of ICMH. An Assistant Professor of Psychiatry having special interest in child psychiatry will be giving consultancy at the clinic.

Teaching programmes:

There are regular teaching meeting on Monday dedicated to general paediatrics. Junior doctors are presenting cases in this meeting. We also have other programmes like journal club, audit and research presentation. We also have plan to organise a weekly teaching meeting in collaboration with other institutions.

Training programmes:

ICMH has unique facilities for training. There are even facilities for long term residential training. So far we have conducted in collaboration with Obstetrics and Gynaecology faculty eight varieties of more than 114 training courses giving training to 1710 participants (Table-3).

Research activities:

ICMH has a very strong Epidemiology and Biostatistics faculty which enhances our capacity to do research. The areas of interest are shown in Table-4.
